In recent years, due to ever-increasing demand for sustainable timber, the FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) scheme has been established. This scheme provides certification to demonstrate a "chain of custody" from timber grower, to timber processor, through to the eventual end user of the timber. All Ultra Joists timbers are FSC certified to originate exclusively from these responsibly managed forestry resources.

Why Ultra Joist?

Around the UK Ultra Joists are supplied on site at close to "in-service" moisture content, ensuring they are pre-conditioned to match the needs of any installation. Ultra Joists are available in standard lengths up to 6 metres, but can also be obtained finger-jointed in lengths up to 9 metres. The environmental and climatic benefits, strict engineering tolerances, treatment and weight savings, all ensure that Ultra Joist is the natural, cost-effective solution to the increasing demands of modern construction techniques.

• The preservative is fully biodegradeable, conforms to the efficacy requirements of BS EN 599-1 / BS 8417 to give a 60 year service life and it does so using a very low uptake of treatment solution. This means we save water (up to 90% savings over some recognised treatments) and that the preservative has an insignificant effect on the moisture content of the superdry timber.
